Ryan Chin

Ryan is the managing director of the City Science Initiative at the MIT Media Lab where he conducts research and develops prototypes that aim to disrupt urban systems in the areas of urban mobility, building-integrated agriculture and big data analytics. Chin also consults with and advises industry and government agencies on creating and managing smart cities with sustainable urban systems through mass customization.

Chin has won awards for his research including the Katerva Award for Transportation in 2014, and the 100K Buckminster Fuller Challenge in 2009. In 2006, Esquire Magazine named Ryan Chin one of the Best and Brightest Innovators under the age of 35.
