Sorry I'm late as well & missed your holiday plans. In a prior life I was a Travel Agent. J'adore France & especially Paris where I spent a full 2 weeks sightseeing in 2000 (I also worked for Air France at the time.) I recommend on your next visit: act like a citizen, buy a public transportation pass & buy "Le Bus" at a local book store which contains the entire bus route system for Paris. You'll see way more of Paris & be more inspired than you've ever dreamed - all for a very low price. You cannot see the city traveling the underground Metro!

Sorry to reply too late .... I'm living in Paris though, and for the next time you or some friend of yours pass by Paris, I'll be your guide. :-)
There are quite a lot inspiring things going on at the moment, between cultural renewal to the rise of start-up and the entrepreneurship utopia, there are new grunge indoor spaces for food-diner-dance, as well as new outdoor places to enjoy the late summer and of course, a few new trendy addresses that you may have learned about on the web - and for sure on PSFK :-)

Can't say I've had the opportunity to check this out, as it just opened the other night, but I have to imagine that David Lynch's new Paris Nightclub, Club Silencio (inspired by the club of the same name from Mulholland Drive), has to be rather amazing.
